Photo Gallery of the Mekong Delta

These are photos of the journey that I wasn't able to post at the time.  The original published post of our trip down to the Mekong Delta can be found by clicking on the 7th February.

The bus picked us up in Ho Chi Minh City early in the morning stopping a few times on the journey down including a temple with the usual array of Buddhas.  Our time up the river was through a haze of smog/fog which lifted a bit by mid morning but was never very clear.

Another beautiful temple

Another laughing Buddha

Sleeping Buddha (there's also a vertical one but...enough's enough)
Newly weds, loved their t-shirts

One of the delights on the lunch menu
:
Paddling down a small tributary

I was the 'paddlee'

Breakfast before dawn

Low tide, muddy river....

and trying to get down to the boat

Homes along the riverside:

Not exactly Homes of the Rich & Famous
Or from Beautiful Homes & Gardens

The floating market:

Making rice noodles:

Grinding the flour

Cooking the 'pancakes'

Drying in the sun

And then shredding them

NOT for me thanks!

The menu, we declined
